Calgary Society of Community Opportunities

CSCO is a non-profit agency dedicated to supporting individuals with diverse needs in building community relationships, by offering them the opportunity to realize their recreational, educational and volunteer capabilities.

What we do:

CSCO supports people who have developmental disabilities to be part of the community. We have two types of programs; our Core Program and our Social Skills Programs. In our Core Program, we work with you to make programs and a schedule of activities both in the community and on-site. We look at what you are interested in, your skills and your needs to offer programs you may enjoy. You can join:

-Social programs

-Leisure programs

-Educational programs

-Volunteering programs

We have opened up some of our most popular activities to adults with developmental disabilites who are seeking opportunies in Social Skills Programs. We provide courses where you can learn to prepare food, use a hand-drum or other musical instruments, get moving to music and various other fun activities. These are provided at a nominal cost.

Who can join?

Our Core Programs at CSCO are for adults with developmental disabilities with funding from Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD). If you want to call someone to find out if you can get support from PDD, you can call an Intake Coordinator at 403-297-5139.

Our Social Skill Programs are for any adult with developmental disabilities who wants to have fun and meet new friends. There is a nominal cost for these weekly group programs.
